We’re Mercedes & Reed Burr — a music-loving, trail-wandering duo of Halloween enthusiasts with a shared dream: to grow our family through adoption.

We believe that, like Edgar Allen Poe once said, “There is no beauty without some strangeness.” That quote lives on our living room wall — because a little strangeness is where the magic in life thrives. It’s where laughter starts, creativity blooms, and love grows strong and deep.

​

We believe in embracing the unexpected and finding joy in the little things. Our days are filled with messy meals with our 3 year-old daughter, jamming to our favorite songs, family hikes through sun-dappled forests, and the occasional Halloween costume brainstorming session in June. We love chasing waterfalls and finding new places to explore all throughout spring and summer, and when Autumn rolls around? Well - drag out the plastic skeletons and light the pumpkin-scented candles, because anywhere there can be boo-ghosts, there WILL be boo-ghosts.

We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and are strongly rooted in our faith. As such, we try our best to live the two great commandments given by Jesus Christ - love God, and love others. This, along with our personal passions and interests, has orchestrated our lives into a soundtrack filled with love, curiosity, miracles, and laughter.

We’re hopeful adoptive parents, dreaming of welcoming another child into this wonderfully wild, love-soaked life we have built together.
